Our Story: From Our Family to Your Table

Welcome to The Little Dutch Bakery. We are Bas and Catalina, along with our son Nathaniel. We are a family bakery in Longwood, baking organic sourdough for Central Florida.

Meet the Bakers

  • Bas (The Netherlands): An executive chef who left that job to bake full time. He brings Dutch baking with him.
  • Catalina (Colombia): A teacher with a degree in baking and pastry.
  • Nathaniel: Our son, a finalist in the Department of Agriculture Student Chef competition.

A Dream That Took Flight

The bakery began with Bas's dream to open one. Catalina started a small delivery account for neighbors. Orders came in from people we did not know. When demand exploded last January, Bas left his executive chef role to bake full time.

Why we bake with organic flour

We chose organic because it is better food for everybody. No pesticides in the flour. The classic loaf is organic flour, water, and salt.

Catalina has Hashimoto. Organic flour is much better for her. It does not inflame her. We bake that same loaf for everyone. Other ingredients are organic when we can get them.

Our Longwood bakery

Our first bakery storefront is opening soon — we're waiting on our final permits — at 851 E SR 434, Suite 130, Longwood, FL 32750. When we open in mid-November: Thursday to Sunday, 8 AM to 2 PM, with fresh sourdough, drip coffee and a toast bar. Follow Instagram or Facebook for opening day. See the new Longwood bakery.

  • Saturday: Port Orange Farmers Market at the Pavilion, 9 AM to 1 PM. Winter Park Farmers Market, 8 AM to 1 PM.
  • Sunday: Mount Dora Village Farmers Market, 9 AM to 2 PM.

Local delivery

Sourdough delivered around Longwood and Central Florida, on orders of $20 or more. No delivery fee. Order on Hotplate. Florida shipping is on this site: baked Thursday morning, shipped Thursday afternoon, delivered Friday. $8, free at $50 or more. Order by Wednesday noon.
